Dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants are all ready to help you.
Many people have become better at taking care of their teeth, and with regular check-ups, there is often little that the dentist needs to do. But everyone needs check-ups and usually a professional cleaning of their teeth too. This is where the dental hygienist comes into the picture.
The dental hygienist is trained to independently carry out a check-up, to clean teeth and carry out periodontal treatment, as well as other uncomplicated tasks, which dentists previously handled themselves.
The dental assistant assists both the dentist and the dental hygienist, but can also independently carry out smaller clinical tasks – taking imprints, polishing teeth etc. The dental assistant is also responsible for the daily operation and administration of the clinic.
